Since BETT, I can't stop thinking about resource provision units.
Not because they're a good idea.
Because nobody knows if they work.

The UK government is moving towards mainstream inclusion for children with special educational needs.

The direction: resource provision units (specialist facilities within mainstream schools with smaller classes, specialist staff, and additional support) instead of separate special schools.

On the SEND panel, featuring Dr Stella Sharinger, Dr Sarah Mosley, Samantha Booth, Annemarie Hassell, CEO of NASEN, and Tania Tirraoro, Founder of Special Needs Jungle, I heard this repeated concern:

We're creating resource provision without guidance, without an evidence base, without adequate funding.

And real children are the ones testing it out.
